ITV Movieclub fully merged with Lovefilm in late 2006.
ITV entered the DVD rental market in February 2005, with a unique set of terms which we think are worse than their competitors. Instead of offering unlimited DVDs, they initially set rather low limits on what you can rent during the month, but later switched to an unlimited model with industry standard prices.
Their site itself is fine, powered by the powerful Lovefilm engine, but as usual with these sites, they are not as good as the original, Lovefilm, which remains the best UK DVD rental site in our opinion. In fact, they managed to ruin one of the few unique parts they brought to the site, the header, where the genre names are actually so small they're blurry and pixilated--though this has since been corrected. We also note that they dropped the phone contact number that Lovefilm offers.
Prices: ITV have started offering a free trial of 5 discs within 21 days. You won't be able eligible for another free trial if you've already had one with any Lovefilm "powered-by" site. They charge£9.99 per month for an unlimited 1-disc at-a-time subscription, £12.49 for 2 discs, and £15.99 for a 3-disc package
