FilmFour's DVD rental service appears to have closed down in late 2006.
Filmfour is powered by the large Lovefilm company, and other than the banner (red instead of brown) the two websites are practically identical. The similarity begs the questions--why go with the FilmFour middleman at all, why not stick with the specialists at Lovefilm? We know some readers disagree, but we just don't believe that ay of Lovefilm's several "powered by" clones can be better than the original.
In particular, we don't like the large FilmFour header with links to other parts of their site.
Prices: Their free trial period is only 6 discs, two at a time, and they are odd in they only offer a 2 disc subscription. You won't be able eligible for another free trial if you've already had one with any Lovefilm site. You probably won't be able to get a free trial if you've already tried another Lovefilm-powered site.Their two discs at a time subscription is for an industry-standard 12.99 per month. If you want to cancel, you must let them know and be sure all DVDs arrive back by the end of the trial period. Unlike some other Lovefilm "powered by" sites, FilmFour DVD Rental doesn't offer console game rentals.
